Air Canada brings flight search and booking into a mobile workflow built around common itinerary types. Travelers can choose a round trip, one-way journey, or multi-city route, then set departure and arrival airports, dates, passenger count, and cabin. The booking flow also supports promotional codes and gives Aeroplan members the option to use points where eligible.
The Book tab keeps these choices together instead of scattering them across separate menus. It is useful for planning a new trip from a phone, comparing route combinations, or starting a booking while away from a computer. Clear fields for airports, dates, passengers, and cabin make the first stage of travel planning easy to review before moving to fares and payment.
Keep Trips, Check-In, and Boarding Passes Together
The Trips area helps travelers organize an existing reservation after booking. A trip can be added with its reservation details, while Aeroplan members can sign in to retrieve eligible journeys automatically. Check-in becomes available from the app for supported flights, and boarding passes can be saved for quick access during the airport journey, including offline access after they have been downloaded.
Trip management continues beyond simply displaying an itinerary. Travelers can follow alerts, review boarding information, handle eligible changes or cancellations, select seats, and request meals for dietary needs. Keeping these tasks beside the booking record makes the app especially practical on travel day, when a passenger may need to move quickly between check-in, the boarding pass, and updated journey details.
Follow Flight Status, Gates, and Baggage
Real-time travel information helps passengers understand what is happening from departure to arrival. Air Canada provides flight status, gate details, boarding progress, and baggage tracking, with searches available by route or flight number. Bag updates can follow luggage from drop-off through transfers and arrival, reducing the need to rely on several airport displays or service desks for routine status checks.
The More tab groups supporting travel tools such as flight status, bag tracking, airport and terminal maps, and onboard Wi-Fi and entertainment information. Airport navigation can provide directions and walking times at supported locations, including major hubs such as Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. These tools are most valuable during connections or unfamiliar airport visits, when current status and a clear route to the next step matter.
Use Aeroplan Points and Travel Rewards
Aeroplan integration gives frequent travelers a loyalty layer alongside Air Canada trip management. Members can sign in to review their points balance, follow Elite Status progress, view recent transactions, and reach reward-related services. Eligible bookings can use cash, Aeroplan points, or a Points + Cash combination, which lets members decide how much of a trip to cover with rewards.
The Aeroplan area also connects members with options such as the eStore, car rentals, hotel bookings, partner offers, and profile settings. A traveler who regularly earns or redeems points can therefore move from planning a flight to checking account progress without switching between separate apps. This makes Air Canada useful both for an immediate journey and for managing longer-term travel rewards between trips.
