Home Dashboard and Storage Categories
MiXplorer starts with a Home dashboard that turns storage into a set of practical entry points. Users can open Internal storage, review folder totals, and jump into App, Audio, Document, Image, Recent, or Video categories instead of drilling through a long directory tree. Data and Download shortcuts keep common locations visible for everyday file work.
This arrangement is useful when a phone holds mixed media, installers, documents, and application data. The blue toolbar keeps navigation, editing, account-style actions, refresh, sorting, and view controls close to the current location, so users can move from a broad storage overview to a specific folder without losing their place.
Bookmarks, Paths, and Multi-Panel Browsing
The Bookmarks drawer gives frequently used locations their own navigation layer. Home, Internal storage, Root, Download, Audio, Video, Image, APK, Archive, and Document entries can be reached from one vertical list, while the path labels show whether a location is a normal folder or a content provider. This makes a large file collection easier to revisit.
MiXplorer also supports tabbed browsing and dual-panel layouts for users who move files between places. A pair of panels can reduce back-and-forth navigation, while bookmarks and tabs preserve useful starting points for repeated tasks such as sorting downloads, checking media folders, or preparing files for transfer.
View Modes and File Selection Tools
MiXplorer lets users decide how each folder should be read. The view menu offers Compact, Columned, Detailed, Wrapped, Minimal, Grid, and Gallery layouts, giving a dense list or a visual arrangement to different kinds of content. Sorting controls can then make a folder easier to scan when filenames, media, or package files need a particular order.
Selection mode turns browsing into an action queue. A long press or selection mark exposes controls for deleting, copying, sharing, and other file operations while the current count and size stay visible in the toolbar. This is practical for cleaning a download folder, preparing a group of images, or handling several APK files together.
APK Collections and Network-Ready File Workflows
The APK category gathers package files into a focused grid with recognizable icons and filenames. Users can distinguish APK, APKM, APKS, and MIA views from the category tabs, then choose a package for inspection or the next file action. That focused entry point is helpful when installers are mixed with ordinary documents and media.
For broader file work, MiXplorer extends the browser with archive handling, encryption options, image and media viewing, text and code editing, and clients or servers for FTP, SFTP, SMB, WebDAV, HTTP, and DLNA. These additions let power users keep local storage, removable drives, and network locations in one consistent workflow.
