A compact toolbar keeps brush, blend, erase, color, and brush-size controls close to the work area, so artists can adjust a stroke without breaking their rhythm. Built-in brush groups cover familiar styles such as sketch, ink, paint, spray, and watercolor, giving beginners an approachable path into digital painting.
Artists who want a more personal mark can tune brush behavior and organize favorite tools for recurring projects. Pressure and tilt support on compatible styluses add expressive variation, while the color wheel, sliders, palettes, and live effects make it easier to build a deliberate palette instead of relying on one default brush.
Layers, Selections, and Perspective Guides
Layer-based editing lets artists separate line work, color, lighting, and finishing effects before making a final composition. The app supports groups, masks, clipping masks, blend modes, filter layers, and adjustments, so a simple sketch can grow into an organized illustration without flattening every decision. Project History also gives users a way to revisit earlier stages when an experiment takes the artwork in the wrong direction.
Selections and transformations help refine individual areas, while symmetry, shapes, hatching, and perspective guides support comics, patterns, architecture, and concept art. Five perspective-guide styles, including isometric work, are useful when a drawing needs structure; fills, gradients, cloning, liquify, and canvas preview tools add control for cleanup and proportion checks.
Editable Text and Reference-Assisted Creation
The editable Text tool gives illustrators a way to place typography inside the same project as their painted elements. Text layers can be adjusted after placement with snapping and alignment guides, custom fonts, variable settings, spacing, casing, and advanced justification. Support for right-to-left languages and emojis makes the tool useful for posters, labels, comics, study cards, and other artwork that mixes words with images.
Projects can also begin with reference material from Photos, Camera, Clipboard, or image search, with multiple references available while drawing. Artists can sample colors, compare ideas, and keep visual targets nearby without turning the canvas into a separate research task. A Classroom area with short video demonstrations adds a guided way to learn the wider toolset.
Export, Timelapse, and Repeatable Projects
Infinite Painter supports an end-to-end workflow from a blank canvas to a shareable file. Finished work can be exported as JPG, PNG, WEBP, ZIP, layered PSD, or Painter project files, allowing a quick social image and a more editable handoff to follow different paths. Brushes and brush sets can also be imported, exported, organized, and shared when an artist wants the same tools across recurring work.
Timelapse recording captures the making process for later sharing, and the community area gives artists a place to show what they create. These options fit short practice sessions as well as longer illustration work, especially when a project needs references, layered edits, a reusable brush setup, or a record of its progress.
