The Android interface opens on a grid canvas with direct access to image loading, projects, and the main menu. This layout makes it easy to begin with a visual asset and then build the message around it. For users who mainly need clear words over an image, Phonto keeps the first step quick and understandable.
Choose Built-In and Custom Fonts
Font choice is the center of Phonto's design workflow. The app provides more than 200 typefaces, giving users a broad starting library for matching formal, playful, bold, or decorative layouts. A suitable typeface can change the tone of a quote or promotional graphic without requiring a separate desktop program.
Custom fonts extend that library when a project needs a specific visual identity. Phonto can install compatible font files opened on Android, including ZIP, TTF, and OTF packages, and installed faces become available with the user's other font choices. Settings also include Noto font loading and a Fontasy entry for exploring additional open-source fonts.
Shape Text with Detailed Style Controls
Phonto includes the typography controls needed to make text readable against many kinds of images. Users can change text size and color, add a shadow, rotate the lettering, and adjust stroke color or width. A text background can add separation when the photo behind the words is visually busy or has uneven contrast.
Letter spacing and line spacing help balance short titles, stacked quotes, and multi-line captions. Blend mode provides another way to integrate lettering with the image instead of leaving it as a flat overlay. The main menu also keeps app settings and related tools close to the canvas without hiding the primary image workflow.
Inside Phonto Settings, users can manage font-loading choices, open the privacy policy, review the installed version, and find the Ad-Free Option. The menu also links to Vont for adding text to videos when that separate companion app is installed.
