Go Online and Manage Trip Requests
Uber Driver centers the workday around going online and responding to ride or delivery opportunities. From Home, drivers can review nearby busy areas and hourly trends, adjust preferred delivery types, then select Go when they are ready to receive requests. Exclusive requests have a response window, while Trip Radar may show offers to several drivers in supported markets.
Each request provides key trip information before acceptance, helping partners decide whether it fits their time and location. Once accepted, the workflow moves from pickup to drop-off without requiring a separate dispatch tool. This structure suits drivers who want to start a short session, switch service types, or build a longer shift around demand.
Navigate Pickups, Routes, and Drop-Offs
Turn-by-turn guidance connects the request screen with each stage of a trip or delivery. The route view can provide automatic navigation, an upcoming-trip overview, lane guidance, and traffic conditions, while night mode makes map information easier to read after dark. Drivers can also choose a supported third-party navigation service in app settings.
For deliveries, the app guides couriers to pickup, provides order-confirmation steps, and starts directions toward the customer after collection. Some drop-offs may ask for a signature, ID check, or delivery photo depending on the order. Compatible vehicles can extend core trip controls to Android Auto, CarPlay, or a Tesla display, reducing the need to handle the phone while moving.
Track Earnings and Plan Each Shift
Uber Driver combines current earnings with planning tools that help partners decide when and where to work. The Earnings section summarizes recent totals and provides available cash-out options, while Home and Discover can surface busy-area trends, nearby events, promotions, and reservations. These signals help drivers compare opportunities before committing time to a shift.
Forecasts are planning estimates rather than guaranteed pay, so they work best as one input alongside distance, time, and local demand. After completed trips, drivers can review earnings progress toward daily or weekly goals and manage payout-related information through the app. This makes the app useful not only during trips, but also before a shift begins and after work ends.
Manage Messages, Safety, and Driver Tools
Account and support tools keep routine driver administration inside the same workspace as trip activity. Inbox collects messages about document status, account updates, opportunities, and other notices. The Menu provides paths to profile details, Help, the Safety Hub, app settings, vehicle and document management, payout methods, tax forms, and learning resources.
A valid driver or courier account is part of the workflow because eligibility, documents, service preferences, and earnings are tied to the partner profile. New users can move through registration and identity confirmation, while active partners can return to support or settings when something changes. These controls are most useful for keeping records current and resolving practical issues without leaving the driver workflow.
