Each formula entry opens its own focused calculator, keeping the selection visible before values are entered. The layout is intentionally direct: choose the method, provide the requested patient data, and use Calculate to produce the estimate. Keeping method names such as CKD-EPI and Cockcroft-Gault in view helps users match the calculation to the context supplied by their clinician or coursework.
Enter Patient Values and Read the CKD Stage
The calculator starts with a compact set of fields for sex, age, and creatinine, followed by a prominent Calculate button. A unit control beside creatinine lets users work in mg/dL or switch to another supported concentration unit, so a lab report can be entered without a separate conversion app. The CKD-EPI 2021 page keeps the input order easy to scan on a phone.
After calculation, the app presents an estimated GFR together with a chronic kidney disease stage. That pairing makes the output easier to discuss during a review of lab results, while the References area provides background for users who want to understand the terminology. Enter values exactly as reported and treat the result as an estimate for professional interpretation.
Convert Units and Extend the Calculation
Beyond the individual formula pages, the app supports metric and imperial measurements plus conversions between μmol/L, mg/dL, and mg/L. Centimeter-to-inch conversion is also available, which helps when height or laboratory values arrive in different formats. These controls keep common preparation steps close to the main kidney-function workflow.
Optional Plus and Gold editions expand the toolkit with an All in One calculator, body-surface-area indexation, and in-app language changes. Gold adds a dark theme and calculation History, giving frequent users a more personalized way to revisit work. The paid editions are presented as extensions around the same calculator rather than a replacement for the basic formula pages, so users can choose the level of convenience that fits their routine.
Use References, History, and Settings for Follow-Up
The bottom navigation separates Home, References, History, and Settings, giving the app a clear place for both a quick calculation and later review. References can help users look up formula context, while Settings provides a route for language or appearance preferences available to the selected edition. This structure is useful when the calculator is kept on a phone for repeated study or clinical reference.
History is available as a Gold feature for saving calculations with an optional name and finding records by name, date, or calculation method. Saved entries can be managed with familiar gestures and bulk actions, which helps frequent users return to earlier work without re-entering every value. Users working with patient information should follow their own privacy policies when saving records.
