Measure Internet Speed and Latency
WiFiman puts internet and WiFi performance checks in the Speed tab, giving users a direct way to measure download and upload speed on the current connection. Auto Server Detection reduces setup, while saved results can be compared over time or shared when someone needs a clear record of network performance.
The same area adds context beyond a single headline number. WiFi Speed Factors identify the connected band, radio potential, signal level, and channel health, while latency cards help compare response times to common destinations and the local gateway. This combination is useful when slow browsing may come from the internet link, wireless conditions, or local network delay.
Follow Signal Quality Across Access Points
The Signal tab turns a moving connection into readable live metrics. Users can follow signal strength in dBm, PHY speed, throughput, latency, and access point roaming instead of relying only on whether the WiFi icon looks full. Band and connected-access-point details make it easier to understand why performance changes across rooms or while moving through a building.
Signal Strength and Floor Plan views support practical placement work for homes, offices, and installations. A user can watch the graph while walking, compare areas, and identify weak coverage or an access point that needs attention. Floor mapping depends on compatible hardware and environment, but the core live readings still provide a focused way to assess wireless quality.
Discover WiFi and Bluetooth Devices
Discovery brings local network inventory and nearby radio scanning into the same toolkit. Users can switch between WiFi and Bluetooth views, find devices on the current subnet, and review details such as IP addresses and recognizable device identities. WiFiman can use common discovery methods, including Bonjour, SNMP, NetBIOS, and Ubiquiti protocols, to provide more context than a basic client list.
This view is useful when tracking down an unfamiliar device, checking whether equipment joined the correct network, or diagnosing adoption problems. Ubiquiti hardware can receive richer identification, while ordinary clients still appear in a clear device list. Network installers and home users can therefore move from a vague connectivity complaint to a specific device or subnet worth investigating.
Reach UniFi Networks with Teleport
Teleport extends WiFiman from local diagnostics to remote access for compatible UniFi networks. A UniFi owner can connect through a Teleport invitation or sign in with the UI account associated with the target console, creating a simple VPN path back to that network. This is useful for reaching local resources or troubleshooting when the user is away from the site.
The Account area keeps related controls close to the network tools. App Preferences, issue reporting, Ubiquiti app links, WiFiman Community, support information, privacy terms, and language settings provide practical maintenance options. Core diagnostics remain separate from Teleport, so users can handle local speed, signal, and discovery tasks without treating remote access as the only purpose.
