QR assignment is useful when an administrator is preparing several devices, while direct assignment suits a single phone or tablet. Once the device is linked, Host acts as the resident endpoint for recurring remote support rather than a one-time help session.
Remote Control and Live Screen Sharing
Remote control is the main reason to place Host on an Android device. A connected operator can view the device in real time and, when the manufacturer supports control, work through the remote screen as if the device were nearby. This is useful for troubleshooting, guiding a user, checking a kiosk, or maintaining equipment in another room or location.
TeamViewer separates Host from QuickSupport by the connection model: Host is intended for an assigned endpoint that can be reached without a fresh confirmation, while QuickSupport is better for attended help. Device compatibility still depends on the manufacturer, so some Android hardware may provide screen sharing without full touch control. That distinction helps teams choose the right endpoint app.
Device Details, Files, and App Management
Host extends a remote session beyond viewing the display. TeamViewer's Android Host workflow can expose device details such as hardware, operating system, battery, storage, network, Bluetooth, resolution, and other connection context, giving an operator useful diagnostics before changing anything. A dashboard-style view is especially helpful when the remote device is a kiosk or a phone used by someone who is not nearby.
The same remote toolkit includes two-way file transfer, an app list with uninstall controls, Wi-Fi setting push and pull, and clipboard exchange for confidential text. Eco Mode and Managed Device Deployment
Teams that manage many Android endpoints can use Host as part of a repeatable deployment routine rather than configuring every device from scratch. TeamViewer documents MDM Appconfig support, device assignment, and deployment paths for Host, which suit fleets of retail screens, tablets, POS terminals, or field equipment. The result is a clearer handoff from installation to a named device in the management list.
Eco Mode gives occasional-use devices another practical option. When enabled, the endpoint can conserve battery and mobile data while remaining startable from the TeamViewer device list; after a connection closes, it returns to Eco Mode after 10 minutes. This balance is useful for equipment that should stay reachable without running a full remote session all day.
