Search, Browse, and Check Local Stock
Screwfix turns a large trade catalogue into a practical mobile search flow for jobs that cannot wait. Users can enter a product name, browse departments such as tools, heating and plumbing, electrical and lighting, bathrooms, outdoor supplies, fixings, and building materials, then compare options without returning to a desktop. A selected store helps make availability more relevant to the place where an order will be collected.
The search bar also includes a camera entry for visual product discovery, while product pages can surface ratings, reviews, prices, and stock information. These routes suit both tradespeople replacing a part on site and DIY shoppers narrowing an unfamiliar category before choosing an item.
Build a Basket and Collect Faster
The app supports the path from finding an item to choosing delivery or Click & Collect. Shoppers can build a basket, adjust fulfillment choices, check whether products are ready at a selected store, and place an order for collection. For users working against a deadline, this keeps local availability and ordering in the same mobile workflow.
When a collection order is confirmed ready, location-enabled in-store check-in can tell the selected store that the customer has arrived. A basket can also generate a QR code for staff to load products at the till, although that QR route does not reserve stock like Click & Collect. These options help users choose between advance collection and completing an order in store.
Review Orders, Receipts, and Repeat Purchases
My Orders gives account holders a working record of purchases instead of leaving order details scattered across email messages. Users can find previous orders by date, reference, or product, review collection status, and add a past order back to the basket with Buy Again. This is useful for tradespeople who regularly reorder the same consumables, fixings, or site supplies.
The app keeps invoices available for 18 months and places order activity inside the same bottom navigation used for browsing and the basket. Delivery tracking is handled through a link sent with shipping notifications rather than a full in-app tracker. Together, the receipt and repeat-order tools reduce time spent rebuilding routine purchases or searching for recent paperwork.
Use Guest Access, Rewards, and Store Tools
Screwfix allows shoppers to continue as a guest for browsing, while signing in unlocks account-specific tools. Existing online customers can use the same credentials, and registered users can choose stay-signed-in or biometric access where supported. The More area brings together notifications, preferences, service updates, saved lists, Screwfix Rewards, and the Screwfix Card.
Account access also connects purchases with previous orders, exclusive account pricing where eligible, and a QR-based card that store staff can scan to load customer details. Store-finding and selected-store settings keep opening times, services, and local stock tied to the user’s preferred branch. This mix lets occasional shoppers browse quickly while regular customers keep repeat tasks and store visits organized.
