Patient Portal and Everyday Care Tasks
NYP Connect turns routine patient tasks into a single mobile workflow. Through Connect Patient Portal, patients can review medical records and test results, manage appointments, send messages to their care team, request prescription refills, and reach billing tools. This makes it useful before a visit, while waiting for follow-up information, or when paperwork would otherwise require several separate websites or calls.
The home screen places Connect Patient Portal, eCheck-in, Prescription Refill, and My Care Team near the top, while useful links include Pay Bill and frequently asked questions. These entries help returning patients move directly to a specific task instead of searching through a broad hospital site, and the side menu keeps the same core routes available from elsewhere in the app.
Doctor Search and Virtual Care Access
Finding appropriate care is another central use case. Patients can search for a doctor by specialty, location, accepted insurance, or language, then use Virtual Urgent Care for non-life-threatening concerns or open Scheduled Video Visit for an appointment with their clinician. These paths support both new patients looking for a provider and established patients who need remote care.
The main service grid keeps Find a Doctor, Virtual Urgent Care, and Scheduled Video Visit together, reducing the distance between discovery and care access. Hospital Information is also available from the side menu for patients who need campus details before traveling. Virtual visits still depend on enrollment, eligibility, internet access, and the care service's scheduling rules, so users should follow the prompts for the selected service.
eCheck-In, Arrival, and Visit Preparation
NYP Connect helps patients prepare for an appointment before they reach the front desk. eCheck-in provides a route into pre-visit steps, while location-assisted arrival can notify front-desk staff when a patient arrives and can suggest nearby providers while the app is in use. These tools are designed to reduce repeated check-in steps and make the transition from travel to a scheduled visit more organized.
The app explains why location access may be requested and lets users continue to Android's permission controls before enabling it. Patients who prefer not to grant location can decline the prompt and still use the visible home and navigation areas, although arrival-based conveniences may not work. A clear Favorites entry also helps keep frequently used information easier to return to during recurring care.
Health Information and Hospital Resources
Beyond appointments and portal access, NYP Connect collects practical health and hospital resources for ongoing use. Health Matters, Health & Wellbeing, podcasts, the Health Library, and Events provide routes to medical news, wellness information, audio content, educational material, and hospital activities. This gives patients a reason to open the app between visits as well as when they need care.
Hospital guides and Hospital Information can support an upcoming visit with navigation, transportation details, phone numbers, and patient guidance. The Useful Links list also includes My Care Team, prescription refill, bill payment, parking payment, and a way to thank an employee. Together, these service and information routes suit NewYork-Presbyterian patients who want a compact Android hub for care access, visit preparation, and dependable hospital resources.
