mySpeed puts the current speed at the center of the experience. Open the app, allow location access when Android asks, and the main display presents a large digital value with the selected unit beside it. The uncluttered face is designed for quick checks while a vehicle, bicycle, boat, or person is moving outdoors.
The readout is based on GPS movement rather than a typed estimate. That makes the app useful for a straightforward live indication, while actual accuracy can vary with the device, surroundings, and available satellite signal. Keep the phone positioned where its location sensor can work normally, then glance at the display when you need the current pace.
MPH, KM/H, and KN Display Modes
The main screen supports three practical unit choices: MPH, KM/H, and KN. Select the unit that matches the way you travel, whether you are comparing a road speed in miles per hour, checking a cycling or driving value in kilometres per hour, or reading knots for a water-based outing. The large number and unit label change together so the display remains easy to interpret.
Unit choice is part of the quick workflow rather than a separate conversion exercise. Switching the display lets the same live reading fit different travel contexts, and the visible label helps prevent a familiar number from being mistaken for a different scale. Pick one mode before a trip, or change it whenever your activity calls for another convention.
Top-Speed Tracking and Reset
Alongside the current reading, mySpeed keeps a top-speed figure for the session. This gives a simple way to compare the fastest point of a drive, ride, run, or other moving activity without opening a history screen. The top-speed line sits on the main display with the current unit, so both values can be read together.
When you are ready to begin another check, use Reset to clear the saved top-speed value and start again. Resetting keeps a fresh outing separate from an earlier measurement and avoids manually tracking the maximum. The feature is intentionally lightweight: it focuses on a current value and one useful peak rather than a larger trip-log system.
Quick Checks for Driving and Outdoor Activities
mySpeed fits situations where a plain speed readout is more useful than navigation or a crowded dashboard. A driver can use it for a quick vehicle check, a cyclist or runner can watch pace while moving, and a sailor can choose knots for an appropriate reference. The dark interface keeps attention on the number and unit instead of a long menu.
A small Settings screen provides Feedback and Rate App links, while the speedometer remains the main task. The app does not require an account to reach that screen, so it can be opened for a quick one-off reading or kept ready for recurring outdoor checks. Grant location access whenever live GPS measurement is needed.
