Create-map flow and templates
MapChart opens with create map, about/options, my maps, and my palette. A version news screen highlights new hearts of iron game maps and a new southeast Asia and Oceania map before users enter the editor.
This makes the app useful for map makers who want a template-first workflow. Users can start from existing map sets and then customize regions instead of drawing geography manually.
This gives the section a clearer user value by connecting the main feature to a concrete mobile use case, session goal, or replay reason.
Coloring, legends, and actions
The editor shows map regions, zoom controls, color switching, legend editing, and an actions menu with download map, reset zoom, change theme, scripts, clear all, save, save as, and load. Users can color countries and attach labels to map colors.
These tools support classroom handouts, strategy planning, infographics, and hobby maps. Legend editing is especially useful when map colors represent groups, routes, outcomes, or custom categories.

Permissions and saved projects
Android settings list camera, photos and videos, notifications, supported links, storage, mobile data, and battery behavior. Storage settings matter because saved maps, exports, custom palettes, and cached assets can accumulate over time.
Users should review where exports are saved before sharing map images. Camera and media permissions should only be granted if a workflow clearly needs them, especially on shared school or work devices.
