Map Pins and Start/Stop Controls
Location Changer puts its main mock-location workflow on a map. Search for a place or enter coordinates, then long-press to drop a pin and review the selected position before starting. The Current location and Change location to areas make the active and target positions easy to distinguish, while Show map opens the geographic view when you want to work from a broader screen.
Tap Start to apply the chosen position and Stop to return to normal location behavior. A dedicated status view can show the active mock position, and the notification also provides a stop control for an already-running session. This layout suits app testing, location-aware feature checks, and repeatable demonstrations where you need to move between a real position and a deliberately selected point.
Joystick, Drive, and Multiple Pins
Location Changer can turn a single map choice into a moving route. Multiple pins let you prepare a sequence of locations and set an interval between them, while Drive moves toward the next pin instead of teleporting directly. This gives testers a way to simulate travel, compare location-sensitive behavior at several points, or build a repeatable route without manually selecting every stop.
The Joystick mode adds hands-on movement when you need smaller adjustments than a pin provides. Its maximum speed can be changed in Settings, and the joystick can be repositioned for a more comfortable layout. These controls are useful for demonstrations and controlled location scenarios, but Android sleep behavior can affect timed intervals when the screen turns off, so route timing may vary.
Search, GPX Trails, and Location Management
Search supports ordinary text addresses as well as coordinate pairs, helping you reach a precise destination without browsing the map manually. GPX import extends the workflow to saved walking or cycling trails, so users can review a virtual route and use it as a structured location sequence. Double-tapping the map changes the zoom level, keeping large regions and specific streets within the same workflow.
Location Changer also provides ways to manage repeated choices through multiple locations, history, and favorites. Premium users can organize a larger pin collection and move or remove pins from their information windows, while the main map remains the place where a new single pin can be chosen. Together, these tools make location testing less repetitive when the same destinations or routes are used often.
Mock Locations and Background Operation
The default Mock locations mode works without a rooted phone and is intended for Android users who need a practical testing setup. Advanced users can choose a mode that targets Location Manager, use a rooted-device patch, or configure a root system-app method on older Android versions. The right choice depends on the device, Android release, and location provider in use.
For continued operation, Location Changer can run in the background and can remain active after a phone reboot, but Android battery controls may stop it. Allowing notifications and removing restrictive background limits can help preserve the session. Remember that this tool changes GPS-style location data, not the device IP address; services using IP checks or their own anti-spoofing rules may still report the real area or reject the mock position.
