Browse Families, Groups, and Church Staff
Instant Church Directory turns a congregation's member list into a searchable mobile directory. After signing in, members can open Families, browse an alphabetical roster, or narrow results by first name, last name, or digits from a phone number. Family pages bring photos, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, birthdays, and group memberships together, reducing the need to search through printed lists or separate contact apps.
The home area can also organize Groups and Staff when those sections are enabled by the directory administrator. Group rosters help members find people connected to a ministry or committee, while Staff pages provide a focused list of church leaders and their contact details. This structure keeps a large directory approachable on a phone.
Call, Message, Email, and Get Directions
Member profiles turn directory details into practical communication shortcuts. On Android, tapping a phone number can offer calling or messaging options, while an email address opens the device's email app with the recipient filled in. An address can open the preferred map app for directions, making the directory useful when arranging visits, meetings, or event travel.
These actions keep contact information tied to the correct family or staff profile. Members can also press and hold selected details to copy them when they need to use another app. Instead of manually retyping a number, address, or email, users can move from finding a person to contacting them with fewer steps.
Automatic Updates and Offline Directory Access
The mobile directory is designed to stay aligned with changes made by a church's directory administrator. When the phone is online, edits to names, family details, photos, or contact information can sync into the app, helping members avoid relying on an outdated printed copy. This is especially useful for congregations where addresses, phone numbers, and group assignments change throughout the year.
Once directory information is available on the device, members can use the app online or offline for basic reference. Returning online allows newer administrator changes to arrive. The combination gives users convenient access while traveling or in buildings with weak connectivity, without turning the member app into the tool used to create and manage the full directory.
Birthdays, Shared Pages, and Family Updates
Beyond contact lookup, Instant Church Directory can surface community information from the home screen. Churches may enable monthly birthdays, anniversaries, additional pages, a pastor's letter, newsletters, announcements, or other shared PDF material. These sections give members one place to check personal milestones and congregation updates instead of relying on separate handouts or message threads.
Available sections depend on what each directory administrator has configured. Members can also review their own family details and submit updates to keep contact information accurate. This makes the app useful between services and events: users can confirm a birthday, find a group roster, read a shared document, or correct their household information while keeping the directory centered on approved church members.
