Flexible Period Scheduling for School Days
Flexible periods give schools a structured way to turn open time into purposeful learning, support, or wellness sessions. Teachers and administrators can publish activities, set priorities, balance room capacity, and place students where support is needed, while students use their schedule to see what is available and what has already been assigned. The result is a clearer daily plan instead of a collection of separate spreadsheets or last-minute messages.
Flex also leaves room for different school rhythms. A campus can use recurring periods for remediation, enrichment, test preparation, mindfulness, counselor check-ins, or other supervised choices. Automated rosters and conflict handling help staff keep the schedule workable as preferences and activity limits change, making the workflow useful for schools that want personalization without losing control.
Student Choice and Activity Sign-Up
The student side of Securly Flex centers on choosing a useful activity for each available flex period. Students can open their schedule, browse choices, search by activity or teacher, and narrow results with activity-type or room filters. Joining a session places it on the calendar, and a comment field can give the teacher extra context about the student's choice.
Choice is balanced with school rules. Activities can be limited by capacity, student group, or a restriction, and the school cutoff time determines when changes stop. That combination makes Flex practical for students who want a voice in their day while still following the boundaries set by staff and the current timetable.
Teacher Rosters, Capacity, and Attendance
Teachers and administrators can use Flex to shape the supply of activities before students make selections. Activity records can include enrollment limits, priority levels, rooms, groups, and mandatory or open participation, while scheduling tools place offerings on selected dates and periods. Staff can add students, adjust details, and keep multiple activities from creating avoidable conflicts.
The management workflow also supports the work after a choice is made. Rosters, attendance information, student search, and restriction rules help adults see where students are expected to be and respond when plans change. Autoassign logic can fill remaining placements from school priorities and student needs, reducing repetitive coordination during busy days.
School Login and Daily Schedule Updates
The mobile login screen connects Flex to the identity system used by a school. Students and staff can choose Google, Clever, Microsoft, ClassLink, or GG4L when those options are enabled, or use registered email and password fields. After authentication, the service is designed for checking schedules, joining activities, and following school-specific announcements and notifications.
Daily use works best when the school has configured its periods and participation rules. In-app alerts can surface same-day changes, and an agenda message can tell students what they are registered for. Flex is therefore most suitable for participating K-12 schools, not for someone seeking a standalone personal calendar without a supported school account.
