Connect Cameras and NVRs from One Device List
Reolink centers the setup flow on a device list for compatible cameras and NVRs. After accepting the service terms, users can choose Add New Device, enter the camera or recorder details, and keep the equipment in one place instead of switching between separate tools. Local access is available for devices on the same network, while remote access can keep the system reachable when you are away.
The Local Devices area is also useful as a quick status check: a new setup may show No Devices Found until a camera or NVR has been added. Reolink supports direct device access with a UID and password, while cloud and smart-home features use a Reolink account. This lets a household start locally and add account-based services when needed.
Live Views, Multi-Camera Monitoring, and PTZ Control
Once a camera is connected, Reolink turns the phone into a live monitoring panel. The app can stream one feed or arrange several channels together, with layouts of up to sixteen views. Stream-quality choices, full-screen viewing, audio, and picture-in-picture help users adapt the view to a quick check or a longer watch.
Remote controls make the live screen more than a passive viewer. Depending on the camera model, users can trigger a siren or spotlight, adjust day/night behavior, use digital zoom, and operate pan-tilt-zoom movement. Manual capture and recording controls are available from the live view, so a useful moment can be saved to the phone while the camera remains under direct control.
Playback, Capture, and Recording Management
Reolink's playback tools help users revisit footage stored on a camera SD card, an NVR hard drive, or supported cloud storage. Open a camera's recording timeline, locate an event, and review the clip without waiting for a live stream. Cloud recordings can be filtered from the Library area when the camera and region support that service.
The app also supports saving useful material locally. Users can capture single or multiple images, record a segment from live view, and download recordings for later sharing or review. Recording schedules and motion-triggered schedules add a management layer for homes and small offices, while display, storage-path, and hardware-decoding options help tailor how the phone handles longer monitoring sessions.
Motion Alerts, Cloud Options, and Everyday Monitoring
Reolink can turn camera activity into timely notifications instead of requiring constant screen checks. Motion detection can trigger push or email alerts, and alarm settings include notification controls, sensitivity, schedules, and optional siren behavior. That makes the app useful for checking a doorway, watching a shop after hours, or keeping up with activity around a home.
The first screens keep the entry point simple: Start leads to the terms page, then the device area can be reached before a camera is configured. Notification access is requested when alert delivery is needed, and Android lets users change that choice later. Cloud plans are optional paid services, so people who only need local camera or NVR access can begin with the core device workflow and add remote storage when it suits them.
