Remote Camera Monitoring and Playback
HiLook is built for remote access to compatible DVRs, NVRs, and IP cameras that support Cloud P2P. Once a device is connected, users can check live camera feeds from an Android phone instead of staying beside the recorder. The same workflow also supports reviewing recorded video, making it easier to revisit activity and look for a particular moment.
That combination suits homeowners, shops, offices, and small installations that need a practical way to stay informed while away. The app keeps monitoring as the central task, while device access and playback give users a clear path from a live view to older footage. Camera availability and playback behavior still depend on the connected equipment, network, and service configuration.
QR Scanning and Local Device Setup
The Home area gives users several ways to begin device setup. Add local device opens a focused entry point, while the plus menu offers Scan QR Code, Add Device Manually, Online Device, and Add Group. Scanning can speed up setup when a recorder or camera presents a matching code; manual entry is useful when the required device details are already at hand.
Local device addition can be used without immediately committing to a broader account workflow, while Login/Register is available for additional services. Groups provide a simple way to separate cameras by room, site, or purpose as a setup grows. This makes HiLook useful for people managing more than one compatible device and for installers who want a predictable onboarding path.
Motion Alerts and Notification Center
Remote viewing is complemented by event notifications. When motion detection on a connected device triggers an alarm, HiLook can deliver an instant message notification so users have a reason to open the app and inspect what happened. This is more useful than checking every camera continuously, especially when the phone is being used away from the monitored property.
The Notifications area gives this alert-oriented workflow its own place in the bottom navigation, while Home remains available for device access. Users can move between monitoring and alerts without losing the app's main structure. The exact events, delivery timing, and available controls depend on the camera or recorder configuration, but the overall design supports quick attention to activity that needs a closer look.
Account, Media, and Help Controls
The Me area gathers the supporting tools around daily camera management. It includes Pictures and Videos, Settings, FAQ, Help, What's New, and About, giving users places to review saved media, adjust preferences, find guidance, and learn about the app. Login/Register sits prominently in this area for people who need additional services beyond local device access.
These controls make HiLook easier to maintain after initial setup. A household can use the Home tab for cameras, Notifications for alarms, and Me for account or help tasks, while a small business can keep separate equipment organized through device groups. The layout is straightforward for routine monitoring, troubleshooting, and checking app information without mixing those tasks into the live-view screen.
