The welcome screen presents those jobs plainly—move, backup, copy, and share—while the All view keeps the next transfer close at hand. A sync control, grid view, date sorting, and a side menu help users choose what to send and where the workflow should begin.
NAS and Cloud Backup Destinations
PhotoSync also works as a bridge to destinations beyond the phone's local gallery. Users can send or retrieve photos and videos from NAS devices, remote servers, personal clouds, and supported services such as Google Photos, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Flickr, Box, and PhotoPrism.
Connection choices include SMB, FTP or SFTP, and WebDAV, while destination settings can control folders, naming formats, transfer quality, and the album or location used for incoming media. The app can import selected, all, or new items from a service, so a phone can act as both a source and a destination. It can also send new media to a chosen destination without requiring a separate manual export step.
Automatic Transfers in the Background
Automatic transfer turns PhotoSync from a one-off sharing tool into a recurring backup assistant. Android users can direct new photos and videos to a predefined destination when a new capture appears, a chosen Wi-Fi network is connected, the device is charging, a selected location is reached, or a schedule becomes due.
The Android workflow can check for eligible media in the background, including after a restart, while different triggers balance convenience and battery use. Users can also choose whether automatic work considers all new media or only items from selected albums. This suits a phone that takes pictures throughout the day and needs protection without a manual transfer after every capture.
Organized Media Views and Transfer Controls
The All library gives users a practical way to review a large media collection before starting a transfer. Grid browsing, date-based sorting, visible object totals, a sync button, and a settings entry make it easier to move from finding files to choosing a destination. Filters can narrow the selection when a full library is more than the task requires.
PhotoSync can remember which items have already been transferred, preserve original files and metadata, and organize results into chosen folders or albums. Optional cleanup after transfer can also help users reclaim local space, while the integrated viewer keeps photos and videos available before or after sharing.
