Perlego centers discovery on an academic catalog that can be explored from several directions. Readers can move through home-page collections, browse topics such as business, computer science, design, art, and biological sciences, or search for a title, author, or subject. The search bar also includes a barcode scanner, giving students a quick way to check whether a physical book is available digitally.
Book cards show covers, publication years, and useful access markers before a title is opened. Collections such as new arrivals, classic adaptations, and artificial intelligence create practical starting points when a reader does not already have a specific book in mind. This mix of direct search and guided browsing suits coursework, research planning, and wider reading.
Build Bookshelves Around Study Projects
Each Perlego title page brings the cover, title, author, and available reading options together in one place. Readers can check whether a book is included in their library access, identify titles with Read Aloud, and add useful material to a bookshelf. Clear access labels help distinguish complete-library titles from books that require an active subscription before full reading begins.
Bookshelves turn individual finds into reusable study collections. A student can group texts for a module, save references for an essay, or keep a separate list for personal reading without repeating the same search. The bottom navigation keeps Home, Search, Library, and Profile close at hand, so moving from discovery to organization takes only a few taps.
Download Books for Offline Reading
The Library area separates Downloads from Bookshelves, making offline material easy to find when a reader is away from a stable connection. With active access, supported books can be downloaded inside the Android app and opened later during a commute, trip, or study session. Downloaded titles remain within Perlego rather than becoming transferable PDF or EPUB files.
Perlego currently supports up to 30 downloaded books at a time, which is enough for several courses or a focused research project. Readers can remove finished titles to make space and download them again when needed. Because downloads can expire after inactivity, opening important texts periodically and checking the Downloads tab before travel helps avoid losing offline access at an inconvenient moment.
Read Aloud and Manage Your Account
Read Aloud gives eligible books an alternative to continuous on-screen reading. Titles carrying the audio marker can play text as speech, which can help during review sessions, accessibility-focused study, or times when a reader wants to follow a book without staring at the display. Perlego also provides highlights, notes, bookmarks, and reading tools for building a more active study routine, although availability can vary by title and platform.
Profile controls keep the account side of that routine manageable. Readers can change the app language, open profile and account settings, contact support, report an issue, or delete an account from the Settings area. Together with synced bookshelves and reading progress, these controls make the app practical for people who study across mobile and web sessions.
