Digital Scorecard Access and Event Scoring
PDGA Live turns a phone into a digital scorecard for sanctioned tournaments and leagues. Open the Scorecard tab, enter the access code supplied by event staff, choose the correct player or group, and record scores as the round progresses. This event-based sign-in keeps the scoring workflow tied to the tournament rather than requiring users to build a separate scorecard from scratch.
Multiple scorekeepers can work on the same card, helping groups catch discrepancies before results are finalized. The app can also support score-only entry or fuller throw statistics when an event enables those options. This workflow suits competitors, caddies, and volunteers who need a clear way to submit round data while play continues.
Live Tournaments, Leagues, and Favorites
The Live area lets fans and participants browse current tournaments and leagues without entering a scorecard code. Events are grouped into tabs and lists, with dates, locations, tiers, featured competitions, and a search entry that helps users find a particular tournament. Opening an event provides a direct route to leaderboards and ongoing results, so following a local league or major competition takes only a few taps.
A Favorites tab adds a personal layer for people tracking specific competitors. After marking players as favorites, their event activity can be collected in one place instead of repeatedly searching the full field. The combination of live lists, event search, and player tracking makes the app useful both during a round and while following competition from elsewhere.
Searchable Rules for On-Course Decisions
The Rules tab places disc golf regulations beside the scoring and live-results tools. Users can browse numbered sections of the rule book, expand the relevant topic, and move between the Rules, Competition Manual, and Q&A areas. This structure helps players look up subjects such as throwing, obstacles, relief, regulated routes, positions, and completing a hole when a rules question appears during play.
Keeping regulations inside the same app reduces the need to switch to a browser or carry a separate reference. Search and section-based navigation are especially useful for competitors, tournament staff, and newer players who want a quick answer before continuing a round. It also makes the app useful between events for learning how common situations are handled.
Language, Units, and Display Preferences
The Settings area adapts PDGA Live to different playing environments and user preferences. A language selector supports multilingual use, while the metric option changes how distances are displayed for players who prefer that measurement system. Dark mode provides another display choice for low-light conditions or users who simply prefer a darker interface.
Support and feedback entries give users a clear route when they need help with scoring access or app behavior. The bottom navigation keeps Scorecard, Live, Rules, and Settings available as distinct destinations, which reduces menu hunting during a tournament. Together, these controls make PDGA Live practical for event-day scoring, remote leaderboard watching, quick rule checks, and regular league follow-up.
