Remote Start, Locks, and Climate Controls
myGMC turns a compatible phone into a remote command point for supported GMC vehicles. Depending on the vehicle and service plan, drivers can start or stop the engine, lock or unlock the doors, and adjust available climate controls before walking outside. Keeping these common actions together is useful on cold mornings, hot afternoons, or any time the vehicle is parked at a distance.
The Home screen places essential commands near the top, while a More control can open additional options supported by the selected vehicle. Requests are sent through connected services rather than a direct local connection, so availability and response time depend on the vehicle's equipment, connectivity, account, and active plan.
Vehicle Status at a Glance
Vehicle Status helps owners check everyday maintenance and driving information without returning to the instrument panel. The app can present fuel level, oil life, tire pressure, odometer readings, open-door status, and diagnostic alerts for compatible vehicles. EV owners may instead see battery level, estimated range, plug-in state, and an expected charge-completion time when those details are supported.
A last-updated indicator helps users judge how recent the displayed data is before acting on it. This makes the status area practical for checking whether a tire needs attention, estimating when to refuel or recharge, and preparing for routine maintenance, while remembering that information may refresh only after the vehicle reconnects.
Maps, Service, and Roadside Support
Map tools help drivers find a parked vehicle and get walking directions back to its location. On equipped models, users can also search for destinations and send directions to the vehicle's built-in navigation system, reducing the need to enter an address again after getting behind the wheel. These tools are especially useful in large parking areas or while planning the next stop.
The service area brings maintenance tasks into the same ownership workflow. Drivers can choose a participating preferred dealer, schedule service, review relevant vehicle information, and request Roadside Assistance when available. Help resources and the owner's manual are accessible through the account area, giving users a direct place to look for guidance before arranging additional support.
EV Charging and Multi-Vehicle Management
For supported electric GMC models, myGMC combines charge monitoring with route planning. Drivers can review current battery and range information, look for compatible charging stations, follow plug-in reminders, and use available trip-planning tools that account for the vehicle's charge. Some vehicles and plans also support charging schedules or notifications when charging is complete.
The Account menu supports households with more than one linked vehicle, even when those vehicles span GM brands. Users can switch the selected vehicle, add a vehicle by entering its VIN, and reach account or Help Center options from one profile. The Product Selector keeps commands and status information tied to the correct vehicle instead of mixing several ownership records together.
