DeerCast’s forecast is built for hunters who want to compare the day before choosing when to sit. Select a location and the app brings weather, moon information, and deer-movement predictions into one planning view, making the main question—when conditions look most favorable—easier to investigate.
The forecast cards combine daily highs and lows, feels-like temperature, barometric pressure, wind, precipitation, sunrise and sunset, moon timing, and a colored movement timeline. Hourly Details expands the view to one, five, ten, or fourteen days, so users can move from a quick glance to a more deliberate schedule for an upcoming hunt.
GPS Maps for Hunting Locations
DeerCast Maps turns a hunting area into a planning workspace rather than a simple location pin. The map view uses satellite imagery and familiar pan, zoom, compass, location, and layer controls, helping hunters examine terrain and keep important places close at hand.
The mapping toolkit includes waypoints, wind checks, food-plot planning, live Doppler radar, and virtual rain gauges. Users can set up locations for a property, compare map information with the forecast, and use the layers and measurement-style controls to prepare a route or decide where a stand, camera, or observation belongs. That makes it easier to revisit the same property as plans change.
DeerCast Track and Shot-Recovery Guidance
DeerCast Track adds a recovery reference for the moments after a shot. Users select a point of impact on an anatomical whitetail model, then inspect the highlighted tissue layers and trajectory to think through what may have been affected before beginning the tracking process.
The 3D Deer & Tracking Tips area pairs the model with guidance about what to look for, how long to wait, and how the likely hit changes the next steps. It is useful for reviewing a situation calmly in the field, while the visual model makes specialized tracking information easier to follow than a text-only checklist. The tool helps turn an uncertain field situation into a deliberate recovery plan before movement begins.
Settings, Hunting Content, and Account Tools
Home, Map, Track, and Settings keep DeerCast’s main jobs within a short reach. The Settings area groups Push Preferences, My Locations, Upgrade Plan, help, and account-related controls, while the Home area adds a news feed for hunting material and the app’s wider community content.
New users can choose Sign In, Create New Account, or Skip at the opening account screen, then move through the main navigation. The service also brings together hunting articles, videos, and guidance from the Drury Outdoors team, giving hunters a place to prepare a trip, review conditions, and return to field-focused information. Hunters can revisit saved locations, review updated forecast information, and adjust notification choices as plans develop.
