Anonymous Yaps for Local and Global Conversation
Yapper is built around short, anonymous posts called yaps, giving people a lightweight way to start conversations without turning every interaction into a public profile. The feed can focus on nearby activity or open to global chats, and New and Hot tabs help users choose between fresh posts and conversations gaining attention.
The Local view is designed for area-based discovery, with the feed showing yaps within a displayed radius, while Global opens a wider community. Users can read what people in a city, campus, event, or neighborhood are discussing, then reply or react when a topic invites participation. This makes it easier to discover context without following everyone.
Text, Photo, and Voice Posting
Start yappin' opens a focused composer for sharing a thought, question, or local observation. The panel accepts text, shows a 2,000-character counter, and provides separate controls for adding an image, recording a voice message, or publishing the finished yap. That keeps quick posts practical when typing is not the easiest option.
Yapper also supports photo attachments, GIFs, and audio yaps with selected voice effects. These choices let users match the medium to the moment, from a short written update to a richer post that gives a nearby conversation more context. The result is a flexible format for spontaneous, low-pressure sharing.
Profiles, Notifications, and Community Controls
The Profile area brings personal activity and community follow-up into one place. Users can review their own yaps, see followed conversations, track doubloons earned when people like their posts, and invite friends so a local area has more voices, replies, and likes. A separate Notifications view surfaces reactions and replies as they arrive.
Account controls add practical ways to shape the experience. Users can manage notifications, review blocked users, report rule-breaking posts, open the terms and privacy pages, visit child-safety information, and request account deletion when they no longer want to keep using the service. These controls keep participation manageable as conversations grow over time.
Nearby Sharing for Everyday Moments
Yapper fits short check-ins during a coffee line, between classes, at a campus gathering, or while spending time with friends. The nearby feed gives a local moment a shared place, while the Global option keeps the conversation open when the local area is quiet. Inviting a few people can help turn an empty feed into a more active neighborhood discussion.
The profile also gives everyday participation a small progression loop: likes on yaps can earn doubloons, and the Shop connects that currency with optional perks such as highlighted posts, extra alias choices, badges, and anonymous direct messages for eligible adults. The result is a social app built for casual sharing and lightweight discovery.
