The app keeps connection details such as local and remote addresses, elapsed connection time, and traffic counters in view, so you can tell whether a session is active before opening other apps. The main controls stay easy to find when you return to the app.
WireGuard, OpenVPN, and Tunnel Controls
Power users can shape the tunnel instead of accepting a single preset. TorGuard exposes OpenVPN and WireGuard choices, while the tunnel panel presents protocol, port/authentication, cipher, local IP, remote IP, connection time, and favorite controls in one place. This makes it easier to select a profile that fits a particular network or service plan.
The settings area adds more control through options such as Persistent Tunnel, Stunnel for TCP connections, IPv6 leak protection, MTU, DNS-cache refresh, and WireGuard-key refresh on connection. These controls are useful when a user needs a stable long-running tunnel, a specific protocol behavior, or a way to adjust network handling after moving between Wi-Fi and mobile data. The interface keeps advanced settings readable rather than hiding them behind a desktop-only workflow.

Sort and Filter controls help narrow a long list, while heart icons provide a way to keep preferred locations close at hand.
This layout suits travelers, remote workers, and users who switch between regions during the day. A favorite server can become a repeatable starting point, while alternate cities offer a quick fallback when a route is busy. The app's dedicated-IP and IP-pinning options are also described as part of its broader service, giving users more ways to organize endpoint choices without rebuilding a connection profile each time.
Automatic Reconnection and Split Tunnelling
TorGuard is suited to routines where the tunnel should respond to changing network conditions. Auto connect on boot can start the client with the device, Always-on VPN can keep Android's system-level protection preference in place, and Reconnect on Network Change can react when a phone moves between Wi-Fi and cellular service. Auto login on connect and configurable authentication retries reduce repeated steps for a saved setup.
Split Tunnelling lets users include or exclude selected apps from the VPN path, which is useful when one app needs the tunnel while another must reach a local service directly. Persistent Tunnel can keep a connection alive during reconnects, while DNS and battery options help balance continuity with device resources.
