Old vs latest
Current latest: Taskbar 6.2.2
Archived editorial snapshot
Taskbar 6.2.2 gives Android users a compact way to organize app access around a desktop-style workspace. The launcher combines an edge menu with recent-app switching, then lets users choose a list or grid, manage favorites and hidden entries, and tune placement or collapse behavior. On compatible hardware, Android 10 desktop mode can extend that workspace to an external display with resizable app windows. Android 7.0 and newer devices can also use freeform windows without a monitor after the relevant setup. It is a practical fit for tablets, Chromebooks, supported Android TV devices, and phone users who want more deliberate multitasking.
A readily available start menu keeps installed apps and recently used apps close to the current task. List or grid presentation gives users a quick way to scan the launcher and move between work, browsing, and communication.
Compatible Android 10 and newer hardware can connect to an external display and run apps in resizable windows through desktop mode. A USB-to-HDMI adapter or lapdock and a device with video output are part of that setup.
Android 7.0 and newer devices can open apps in freeform windows without a monitor, while Taskbar settings cover position, search visibility, favorites, hidden entries, and collapse behavior. Some older Android versions need a one-time ADB setup.
