SingStar™ Mic 3.9 archive notes
SingStar™ Mic 3.9 is the Android companion for SingStar on PS3 and PS4. It turns a compatible phone into a wireless microphone and a playlist creator, letting players connect over the same Wi-Fi network and choose functions from the companion interface. Once connected, the phone can serve as Player 1 or Player 2 when no other supported microphone is connected, while friends can add songs to a shared playlist from tracks already purchased on the console. A compatible SingStar console and the relevant purchased songs remain necessary for the karaoke experience. Because this package targets an older Android API level, installation behavior can vary on newer releases.
Phone-as-microphone play
A compatible Android phone becomes a wireless microphone for SingStar on PS3 and PS4. This gives a group another way to join a living-room session without requiring a separate dedicated microphone for every singer.
Shared playlist creation
The companion interface lets friends choose from songs already purchased and downloaded on the console while building a playlist before or during play. It is useful for group sessions where the next performances need to be arranged from the phone.
Console-linked connection
The app can look for a PS3 or PS4 system running SingStar, and the phone and console need to share a Wi-Fi network. Player 1 or Player 2 use depends on whether another supported microphone is connected.
