Old vs latest
Current latest: Proton Authenticator 1.3.10
Archived editorial snapshot
Proton Authenticator 1.3.10 is a standalone 2FA utility for creating, storing, and retrieving time-based codes during account sign-ins. The Android workflow starts with a short onboarding path, then presents an uncluttered vault where users can create a new code or import an existing collection. QR scanning and manual secret-key entry cover fresh setups, while provider-based import helps users move from familiar tools such as Google Authenticator, 2FAS, Aegis, Bitwarden Authenticator, Ente Auth, Authy, and LastPass. A Proton Account can extend the workflow with encrypted sync across devices, but the core vault does not require account registration. This package requires Android 8.1 (API 27) or newer, and Android may ask for camera, notification, biometric, network, boot, or wake-lock access when a related task needs it.
Create a new entry by scanning a QR code or typing a secret key, then return to the vault whenever a service requests a second factor. Rotating codes and a visible countdown keep the next value easy to recognize during sign-in.
The import path starts with a provider chooser for tools such as Google Authenticator, 2FAS, Aegis, Bitwarden Authenticator, Ente Auth, Authy, and LastPass. Export your existing entries from the old app, then bring the file or QR-based backup into Proton Authenticator instead of rebuilding every account.
The standalone Android vault works without a Proton Account, while optional sign-in enables encrypted sync across supported devices. Local export, encrypted backups, and biometric or PIN protection give people practical ways to move, recover, and protect their codes as their device routine changes.
