Capture-Point Combat on WW2 Battlefields
Polyfield puts players into stylized World War II first-person battles where movement, aiming, positioning, and objective control matter more than simply chasing eliminations. The Conquest setup uses capture points marked A through E, team score bars, a match timer, and a minimap to keep the front line readable while you move between trenches, open ground, and defensive positions.
The touch layout keeps a virtual stick, aim controls, weapon switching, firing, reload, and stance actions around the screen. This gives new players a clear rhythm: choose a route, watch the objective letters, use cover, and help the team hold ground while managing ammunition and health under pressure.
Offline Bots, LAN Rooms, and Online Matches
The main menu makes Polyfield's three ways to enter combat easy to separate. Online Match opens a server browser, LAN Match provides a local connection path, and offline play lets you face AI opponents when you want a self-contained practice session. The game supports large-scale 32-versus-32 combat, giving multiplayer battles a team-oriented scale rather than a tiny arena format.
These options fit different play situations. Use bots to learn the controls, test a new route, or warm up without waiting for a room. Use LAN or online sessions for coordinated play with friends, then return to offline matches when connectivity or server availability is inconvenient.
Map Editor and Community-Made Scenarios
Map Editor turns Polyfield from a fixed shooter into a small battlefield-building toolkit. Create a custom zone, shape terrain, add objects, and place capture regions so the route between objectives reflects the kind of match you want to play. A custom map can be designed for open advances, tighter close-quarters movement, or defensive lines that reward careful positioning.
The editor also connects with community-made content, giving players more places to explore beyond the built-in Normandy view in match setup. Builders can test a new layout against bots, adjust cover and objective spacing, and prepare a more playable scenario for local or online sessions. Players who prefer playing to designing can download maps and use them as fresh practice grounds.
Custom Match Rules for Tactical Sessions
Create Match lets players tune a battle before it begins instead of accepting one fixed rule set. The setup screen offers match type, time limit, maximum score, friendly fire, damage factor, map destruction, vehicle count, and NPC difficulty or amount. It also pairs those choices with a map selector and a visible Start control, so a short practice fight and a larger objective match can be configured from the same place.
These controls are useful for different groups. Lower the NPC count for a calmer learning session, adjust the time or score for a quick round, or enable stronger battlefield chaos when you want a more demanding fight. The settings make Polyfield approachable for beginners while leaving experienced players room to shape their own pace.
