Browse NBC Episodes and Classic Series
Browsing NBC episodes is the app's main on-demand workflow. The Home and Browse areas help viewers move between current series, classic programs, new episodes, and short clips, while prominent Watch Now controls make available video easy to start. This structure suits people who want to catch up on network entertainment without searching across separate brand sites.
Program cards can surface episode status and time-sensitive availability, so viewers can decide what to watch next. The bottom navigation keeps Home, Sports, Live, and Browse within reach, making it practical to switch from a featured show to another part of the NBC catalog during a single session.
Watch Live TV, News, and Sports
The Live and Sports areas bring time-sensitive NBC programming into the same app as on-demand shows. Viewers can open featured sports coverage, watch available clips, and use the Live tab for local or national streams when their location and account access meet the program requirements. This gives news and sports followers a direct route to current programming.
A participating TV provider may be required for the live feed or selected locked content. The provider-linking flow lets viewers choose their service and verify an account, while location access helps determine which local station feed is available. Users can still browse other sections when they are not ready to link a provider.
Save Shows with an NBCUniversal Profile
An NBCUniversal Profile gives regular viewers a more continuous experience across supported devices. Signing up can provide three viewing credits for selected locked episodes, let users save favorites, and preserve continue-watching progress, which is useful for series followed over several days or on more than one screen.
Profile creation is optional during onboarding, so people can choose Maybe Later and explore the app before committing to an account. Viewers who do sign in can return to saved programs and use credits where eligible, while a separate TV-provider connection handles broader episode unlocking and live-stream authorization. Keeping these two account roles distinct makes access choices easier to understand.
Cast Video and Adjust Viewing Controls
Playback tools help NBC fit phone, tablet, and television viewing. Available videos can be sent to a compatible TV through Chromecast, and closed captions can be turned on from the player controls. These options are useful when a viewer wants a larger screen, needs readable dialogue, or prefers to move a program from mobile browsing to shared-room viewing.
Notification controls can alert users to relevant app activity, while Android settings allow those alerts to be changed later. Location access is requested for local live-feed availability rather than general episode browsing. Together with clear Home, Sports, Live, and Browse navigation, these controls let viewers shape NBC around occasional clips, episode catch-up, or scheduled live programming.
