Install Buddy helps Android users manage app files through a guided mobile workspace for package handling and backup. Users can find a package, review how it will be handled, restore an app, and keep a backup for later. It accepts APK, XAPK, APKM, and APKS packages outside the standard Play Store flow, then provides an Installer screen, split selection, installation paths, backup, restore, folder, theme, and ad-free controls. Version 2.2 requires unknown-app installation access before handing a selected package to Android, and backups need folder access to Downloads/InstallBuddy Backups. Verify package origin, signing, and intended app before installing, and avoid granting broad storage access without a clear reason.
Install common Android package formats
Choose APK, XAPK, APKM, or APKS files and follow one guided Installer flow. The tool is useful when a package needs more handling than a simple single-file install.
Control split components and paths
Use Advanced Mode to select included split components and review the installation path before continuing. Confirm every component belongs to the intended application and trusted source.
Back up and restore app packages
Save installed packages to a chosen backup folder and restore them later when needed. Folder access, file names, storage space, and unknown-app permissions should be reviewed first.
