Nearby, Global, and Profile Discovery
GROWLR organizes community discovery around Nearby, Global, Bookmarks, and Search views. Users can open a grid of profiles, move between people close to their current area and members farther away, or return to profiles they want to revisit. Location and city search make the flow useful both at home and while planning a trip.
Profile cards present photos, names, online indicators, distance labels, and travel status in a compact layout. The separate Search entry supports more deliberate discovery when scrolling is not enough, while Bookmarks provide a practical shortlist. Together, these tools let users choose between quick local browsing and broader community exploration without leaving the main Bears area.
Private Messaging and Live Video
Private messaging gives GROWLR a direct path from browsing to conversation. The Messages tab collects chats in one inbox, and members can exchange text, photos, or videos after finding someone through a profile grid or search. A welcome message and message alerts make new activity visible without forcing users to hunt through menus.
The Live area adds a more immediate social format, with For You, Trending, and Nearby filters for finding broadcasts and a Go Live entry for hosting. A separate Viewers tab shows recent profile attention, helping users understand who may be interested in connecting. These communication tools support both one-to-one conversations and broader real-time community interaction.
Profiles, Galleries, and Community Signals
Profiles and galleries let members present more than a single grid photo. Users can add personal details, manage profile media, view galleries, and keep track of people through Favorites or Bookmarks. The profile-focused structure helps members decide whether shared interests, location, or social goals make a conversation worth starting.
The More menu brings Profile, My Feed, Favorites, Galleries, Notes, and Search into one place, so recurring account tasks remain easy to reach. Online indicators and viewer activity add useful context around recent engagement, while private-media controls give members a way to choose who can see additional photos or video. This makes profile management part of the everyday discovery loop rather than a separate setup chore.
Events, Check-ins, and Social Planning
GROWLR extends beyond profile browsing with community tools for finding plans and places. Event listings highlight bear runs, festivals, and other gatherings, while bar listings can provide location and venue details. Check-ins help members share where they are and discover people around the same area, which is especially useful when traveling or attending a local event.
The app also includes SHOUT! for broadcasting a message within a chosen area, plus referral, social, and feed entries for wider participation. These options give users several ways to move from online discovery toward real-world social activity. People who prefer quieter use can stay with search, messages, and saved profiles, while more active members can explore local events and community-wide posts.
