Graphical Analysis GW gives science students a direct way to collect live measurements from Vernier’s first-generation Go Wireless hardware. Compatible options include Go Wireless Temp and pH sensors, heart-rate monitors, and LabQuest sensors connected through Go Wireless Link or LabQuest Stream, keeping classroom experiments centered on the readings rather than a desktop setup.
The Select Source screen groups Go Wireless Devices, LabQuest Stream, Data Sharing, Built-in Sensors, and Manual Entry in one place. Students can choose time-based or event-based collection, adjust the rate and duration, zero sensor readings, and work with multiple sensors when LabQuest Stream is available. This makes the app useful for structured labs that need repeatable measurement settings.
Turn Measurements into Graphs and Tables
Collected readings can be displayed as one, two, or three graphs, helping students compare changes and relationships across an experiment. A graph can also sit beside a data table, so learners can move between a visual pattern and its underlying values without leaving the activity.
Graph controls support selecting a region, scaling with pinch gestures, and drawing predictions before data is collected. Those tools are especially practical in physics, chemistry, and biology lessons where students need to compare an expected trend with a measured one. The result is a clearer path from raw sensor output to an interpretable classroom graph.
Analyze Results with Statistics and Curve Fits
Graphical Analysis GW adds analysis tools that help students move beyond simply recording values. They can examine selected points, calculate mean, minimum, maximum, and standard deviation, then apply linear, quadratic, natural exponential, and other curve-fit models when the experiment calls for a mathematical relationship.
These options support common lab tasks such as summarizing repeated measurements, finding a trend, or comparing models against collected data. Graph titles and text annotations let students label what matters before reporting the result. For teachers and learners, that combination keeps measurement, interpretation, and explanation inside one workflow instead of splitting the work across several apps.
Share Lab Data or Work without Hardware
The app can receive shared data over Wi-Fi from LabQuest 2 or Logger Pro 3, giving lab groups another way to view measurements on an Android device. Finished graphs and data can be exported for printing or inclusion in lab reports, while CSV export supports continued analysis in spreadsheet tools.
A compatible Vernier hardware purchase is needed for sensor collection and Data Sharing, but not every activity depends on external equipment. Built-in accelerometers and Manual Entry allow students to create or enter datasets directly on the device. This flexibility makes Graphical Analysis GW useful for both connected experiments and smaller exercises focused on graphing or analysis practice.
