Freeways 2.0 archive notes
Freeways 2.0 is a compact traffic-engineering puzzle in which players draw freeway interchanges between factories and numbered exits, then run traffic to see whether the design stays efficient. The Android package opens directly into a road-drawing level, so a short session can move from a simple route to a more involved junction without a long setup. The 2.0 release adds an 80-level map, cheaper and more plentiful concrete, heavier traffic, toll booths for extra efficiency points, Undo, and saved best designs that can be restored while experimenting. The package targets Android 5.0/API 21 or newer and declares only the Google Play license-check permission.
Draw and reshape freeway interchanges
Draw roads from factories toward numbered highway exits, then use curves, loops, and merges to shape a junction that fits the map. Because each route is sketched by hand, a small change in geometry can make a familiar level feel like a new design problem.
Simulate traffic and improve efficiency
Run the completed layout to watch cars flow through the interchange and expose queues or awkward merges. Comparing each attempt helps you trim congestion, preserve space, and pursue a stronger efficiency score instead of stopping when a road merely reaches its sign.
Use 2.0 tools across a longer map
The 2.0 release brings an 80-level map plus cheaper concrete, heavier traffic, toll booths for extra efficiency points, and Undo. Best-scoring designs remain available while you try improvements, so a bold experiment can be reversed without discarding a layout you already like.
