Create Help Requests and Volunteer Offers
Commu centers on two practical actions: asking nearby people for help and offering your own time or skills. A user can create a help post for an everyday need, publish an offer to support someone else, or share a community story. This makes the app useful for errands, outdoor work, moving, peer support, and other neighbor-to-neighbor tasks that do not need a commercial marketplace.
Creation controls are available from the main navigation, while posts and stories can be separated in the discovery area. Each notice gives the community a clear starting point for responding. By keeping requests, offers, and stories in the same local space, Commu helps residents turn a general willingness to help into a visible task that another person can find and answer.
Find Nearby Needs with Lists and Maps
Local discovery helps users focus on needs that are relevant to where they live. Commu can use the device location or a selected country and city, then organize notices through Nearby, For you, and Saved views. People who prefer a geographic overview can use the map, while a list view makes it easier to scan individual posts and move through opportunities.
Filters for posts, stories, community content, topics, and different sides of an exchange narrow the results before a user responds. Saved items provide a return point for notices that deserve another look. This combination suits both planned volunteering and quick neighborhood help, because users can begin with a broad local area and then refine the feed around the kind of support they want to give or receive.
Coordinate Help in Built-In Chats
Once a suitable notice is found, Commu keeps the next conversation inside the app. Built-in chats let members discuss timing, expectations, and other practical details without placing a personal phone number, email address, or social profile directly into the notice. The messages area also provides a central place to return to active conversations instead of scattering arrangements across several communication apps.
Users can browse notices or offer help directly when the chat list is empty, linking discovery and communication into one workflow. Chat filters help separate conversations as activity grows. For neighborhood errands, peer support, or volunteer coordination, this creates a clearer path from finding a request to agreeing on what happens next, while each participant can decide what personal details to share during the conversation.
Track Town Activity and Personal Contributions
The My Town area connects individual actions with wider community activity. Users can see town-focused content, community information, news, polls, and benefits when those entries are available for their municipality. A contribution panel tracks help posts, chats, and confirmed help records, giving regular volunteers a simple view of how their participation is developing over time.
Town views also explain whether a municipality participates in Commu's communality features and show where local progress information would appear. Notification history keeps reminders and onboarding tasks together, while saved content supports later follow-up. These tools make Commu useful beyond a single request: residents can revisit local activity, monitor their own involvement, and build a steadier habit of offering or requesting everyday support within their area.
